NOUS

Freedom • Responsibility • Meaning

At NOUS, our work is grounded in logotherapy and existential analysis. Rather than focusing primarily on symptoms or diagnoses, we approach each person as a human being oriented towards meaning, values, and responsibility. Instead of asking only what is wrong, we explore what is existentially at stake and what life may be asking of you in your concrete situation.

Sessions begin with your lived experience as it presents itself — thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, questions, and tensions — without rushing to categorise or interpret. Together, we explore how meaning is formed, challenged, or blocked, and how inner positions, values, and decisions emerge within experience, including what may be difficult to articulate or hold consciously. Drawing on existential analysis, we work with the fundamental conditions of existence — being-in-the-world, relationship, self-worth, meaning, and future orientation — and with the capacity for inner consent and responsiveness to life.

While logotherapy and existential analysis form the core framework, our work is integrative and reflective. We draw selectively from neuroscience, Western and Eastern philosophy, mindfulness, and elements of art and music therapy where these deepen understanding and phenomenological clarity. These perspectives are not applied as techniques, but as complementary ways of illuminating experience and supporting existential inquiry.

We work in a non-directive, dialogical manner, at a pace that respects your rhythm and autonomy. The therapeutic relationship is central: a space of presence, attentiveness, and respect in which uncertainty can be borne and essential questions explored. This approach is particularly suited to those navigating life transitions, existential anxiety, crises of meaning, questions of identity, or the search for inner direction and grounded decision-making.
